Patricia S. Brawner, Ph.D

Dr. Brawner followed the curricula for Counseling Psychology earning a PhD in 1991, and an M.A. in Community Counseling in 1989, both from the University of Georgia. She received her undergraduate degree in 1978 at Clemson University. Dr. Brawner has worked in the public school system holding a position of Guidance Counselor and later worked in an in-patient psychiatric facility with The Hospital Corporation of America. She began private practice in 1985 as a Licensed Professional Counselor when she returned to the University of Georgia to pursue a Ph.D, and she has been in private practice as a Licensed Psychologist since 1991. Dr. Brawner is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Athens Area Psychological Association. She holds a Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy and has pursued extensive education in marriage therapy. Dr. Brawner has also received training in hypnotherapy, including smoking cessation. She works with high school and college age individuals, and adults and couples of all ages.
